Description

Using the South Carolina Master Beekeeper Program's Certified Beekeeper materials, Chester County Beekeepers Association offers eight nights of classroom lecture and hands-on activities to help aspiring and beginner beekeepers learn to keep healthy and productive honey bee colonies. Cost includes printed copies of the PowerPoint used, a Workbook and Study Guide, CCBA Membership for 2024, refreshments during class and a field day in a local apiary (date TBA). During this class you will learn about honey bee biology and behavior, what equipment you will need to get started and approximate cost, what your annual hive management practices should look like, how to recognize and deal with predators, pests and diseases, how to legally sell your honey in SC and what you can do with other products of your colonies.
