Are you an individual who enjoys helping to shape the minds of young individuals through the utilization of books? Are you looking for an exciting new way to teach, alongside 4-legged friends? Strides of Strength Therapeutic Services, Inc. is seeking a literacy specialist who can pilot a homeschool, after school, and/or our summer reading program. 

Strides of Strength is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization founded in 2018.

This is an on-site position

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, education, communications, creative writing, or a related field 
• Experience working with children, such as babysitting, tutoring, or coaching.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Knowledge of Common Core literacy standards 
• A minimum of one year experience in teaching

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote childhood development and/or early childhood education.
• Utilize effective teaching strategies to engage students and facilitate learning.
• Assist with behavior management and promote positive social interactions among students.
• Provide individualized attention and support to students who may require additional assistance.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other staff members to ensure the well-being and educational progress of each student.
