Job Description: Marketing & Operations Coordinator (Part-Time)

Reports To: Tourism Director

Location: Chester County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center

Status: Part-Time (approximately 30 hours per week in office, with some night and weekend work required)

Compensation: $20–$24 per hour, depending on experience

Position Overview

The Marketing & Operations Coordinator provides creative and administrative support for the Chester County Chamber of Commerce, while also assisting with tourism marketing initiatives led by the Tourism Director. This position focuses primarily on supporting Chamber communications, digital marketing, member engagement, and day-to-day office operations, while contributing to tourism promotion efforts that highlight Chester County as a destination.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys both creative marketing work and hands-on office support. The role requires someone who can take direction, translate ideas into polished digital content, and maintain organized systems that help the office run smoothly while supporting the Chamber’s mission to serve local businesses and the community.

Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Content & Execution (Direct Support to Tourism Director)

  • Execute social media strategy by creating, scheduling, and monitoring posts for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok (Chamber and Tourism accounts).
  • Build and distribute weekly Chamber e‑blasts and monthly Tourism newsletters based on the Director’s strategic goals.
  • Maintain the community calendar and website listings to ensure digital information about the county is accurate and up to date.
  • Use Canva or similar tools to design flyers, digital ads, and promotional graphics as assigned.

2. Office Support & Operations

  • Assist in manning the Chamber office and Visitor Center, including answering phones, routing calls, and greeting guests.
  • Process and mail visitor guides and relocation packets to prospective travelers and new residents.
  • Monitor and restock tourism brochures at the office and local kiosks.
  • Assist with ordering office and tourism supplies.
  • Support record keeping and maintain Chamber member and tourism partner lists.

3. Program & Event Coordination

  • Provide hands‑on support with setup and teardown for Chamber and Tourism events.
  • Capture photos and short‑form video at events for future marketing use.
  • Coordinate daily with the Tourism Director to ensure tasks align with county economic development and tourism goals.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the operations of the Chamber and Tourism office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, tourism, or a related field with at least one year of relevant experience preferred, or
    Associate’s degree in a related field with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or
    At least three years of relevant professional experience in marketing, communications, design, digital media, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in Canva, social media platforms, and basic website updates.
  • Ability to represent the Chamber and Tourism office professionally in person and over the phone.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple small projects and meet deadlines.
  • Dependable and able to take ownership of assigned tasks and complete them with minimal supervision.
  • Strong writing skills for emails, newsletters, and social media captions.
  • Basic photography or smartphone video skills preferred.
  • Comfortable balancing creative marketing tasks with practical office support responsibilities.

Schedule

This is an in-office position and is not eligible for remote work. Regular in-person collaboration with staff, members, visitors, and community partners is essential to the role.

This is an in‑office position based at the Chester County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center located at 109 Gadsden Street, Chester.

Regular work schedule:
Monday – Thursday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Occasional schedule adjustments may be required for Chamber or Tourism events, which may include evenings or weekends.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional local travel.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for Chamber and Tourism events.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 30 pounds (such as boxes of brochures, signage, or event supplies).
  • Ability to assist with event setup and breakdown, including standing, bending, and carrying materials for short periods.

Digital Platforms & Asset Ownership

All social media accounts, websites, digital platforms, and related passwords used for Chamber and Tourism marketing must be created and maintained using official Chamber‑controlled email accounts and systems. Employees may not create or manage official Chamber or Tourism accounts using personal email addresses or personal phone numbers.
